ความคืบหน้าต่อจาก Neil Young ขอถอนเพลงออกจาก Spotify หลังจากเพลงถูกถอนออกตามคำขอ บรรดาแฟนเพลงของ Neil Young ก็รวมตัวกันดันแคมเปญยกเลิกสมาชิก #SpotifyDeleted บนทวิตเตอร์ และแห่กันไปส่งข้อความบนหน้าเว็บบริการลูกค้าของ Spotify จนบริษัทต้องขึ้นป้ายว่าได้รับข้อความจำนวนมาก จนอาจตอบข้อความช้ากว่าปกติ
ในอีกด้าน คู่แข่งรายสำคัญคือ Apple Music ก็โพสต์เชิญชวนว่าถ้าอยากฟังเพลงของ Neil Young ให้มาทางนี้ มีเพลงทั้งหมดให้ฟังกันจุใจ
ความเคลื่อนไหวของ Neil Young ยังส่งผลให้ศิลปินดังอีกคนคือ Joni Mitchell ประกาศถอนเพลงออกจาก Spotify เช่นกัน
